Stefan Alig, M.D. is postdoctoral research fellow in the laboratory of Ash A. Alizadeh, M.D.,Ph.D. in the Division of Oncology at Stanford University. He earned his medical degree at the University of Munich (LMU). During medical school, he completed clerkships at Hadassah Medical Center, Jimma University and Harvard Medical School. He will complete his fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at LMU Hospital in Munich following the conclusion of his postdoctoral research fellowship.
Dr. Alig’s research focuses on developing and applying clinical and genomic biomarkers in B-cell neoplasms with a special emphasis on circulating tumor DNA and liquid biopsies. He has co-authored multiple papers focused on lymphoma, including a recent manuscript describing the association of circulating tumor DNA levels and the diagnosis-to-treatment interval in patients with Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in the Journal of Clinical Oncology. He is also a member of the German Lymphoma Alliance.
